The rise

Cam grew up chasing one dream: professional cricket. He made it, playing across Australia, New Zealand and the UK. From the outside, it looked like he’d made it.

The wave

On Boxing Day 2004, Cam was in Thailand when the tsunami hit. He survived it. It’s the kind of thing that should change a person immediately. For Cam, the real reckoning took longer.

Losing the game, losing himself

When professional cricket ended, so did the identity Cam had built his whole life around. Nobody warns you what retirement does to a person who doesn’t know who they are without the game.

Rock bottom

At 29, Cam walked out of a psychiatric hospital and made himself a promise: if he could find his way back, he would spend the rest of his life helping others do the same.

An unexpected turn

Somewhere in the middle of rebuilding, Cam found love in the most unexpected place, on the reality show Married at First Sight in 2019, where he met his wife, Jules Robinson. Today he’s a devoted husband and father to two boys, and he’s open that the twists mattered as much as the plan.

The comeback

The comeback is what Cam is known for now: ten years of doing the work, turned into a simple method and a book. He’s an international speaker and a mental health ambassador for Gotcha4Life. In 2024 he presented at the NSW Government’s inaugural Men’s Mental Health Forum at Parliament House. Today he speaks to leaders, teams, schools and sporting clubs across Australia.

“I made a deal with myself at my lowest. If I could find a way out and make my way back to the joyous, authentically happy human I knew I was, then I’d dedicate my life to helping others find their way back too.”
